TREASURE HUNT: HELP & FAQS
QUICK FIX CHECKLIST ⚡
- Browser: Use Google Chrome for the best experience on both iPhone and Android.
- Sound: If you are on an iPhone, ensure your Silent/Mute switch is turned OFF.
- Camera: Ensure you have clicked “Allow” when the browser asks to access your camera.
- Access: Double-check your unique participation link in your email to resume your progress.
1. THE TREASURE HUNT MAP (PROXI)
There are no QR codes to scan. At each stop, look for the window marker. It will have a unique 4-digit number. Type this number into your Proxi map screen to “unlock” that character and log your progress.
When you registered, you were sent a unique participation link via email. Simply find that email and click the link to return exactly where you left off.
2. THE AR EXPERIENCE & AUDIO
The AR “Hero Outfits” and the character audio stories are exclusive rewards for those who have supported World Book Day.
The Lock: These features only unlock once you have made a donation of any amount to the charity via the link on your screen.
If you have donated: Ensure you are using the same browser window. If the features haven’t appeared, try refreshing the page.
- The iPhone Switch: Check the physical “Silent” switch on the side of your iPhone. If you see orange, the sound is muted.
- Volume: Ensure your media volume is turned up.
- Bluetooth: Check that your phone isn’t accidentally connected to car audio or headphones.
Make sure you are in Google Chrome. If the screen is black, refresh the page and ensure you grant “Camera Permissions” when prompted.
- Note: Your phone must be AR-compatible. Most smartphones from the last 5 years work perfectly.
3. THE SECRET PHRASE & PRIZES
The Secret Phrase is revealed at the very end of your journey. Once you complete the hunt, check your email! You will receive a Completion Email containing a link to the Secret Vault and a special clue to help you remember the phrase.
If you have completed the hunt but can’t find the link, you can head directly to the Secret Prize Vault Here. You will still need your Secret Phrase to get inside!
On mobile devices, the PDF often opens in a new tab. Look for the “Share” or “Save” icon on your phone to save the file to your “Files” or “Downloads” folder so you can print it later from a computer.
4. THE LEGAL STUFF
Please remember that this is a self-guided Treasure Hunt on public streets. Stay aware of your surroundings, use designated crossings, and keep an eye on children at all times. High Street Safari and our partners are not responsible for personal safety while on the hunt.
